Bedding and Nightstand Essentials

Hello again! One of my goals for this year is to get my blog posts up on time every week, and so far I am off to a rough start. But life gets busy, things get messy, and sometimes things get in the way. But we are here now! And that counts for something right?

One of my favorite things to do is be in bed. Not sleeping necessarily, but reading, lying, lounging, and doing what TikTok calls “rotting” where you just rest and relax in bed for a day. Especially with my chronic health issues, having a bed that is comfy and luxurious feeling is very important to my life, and having bedding that makes it that way is the first step. And having the perfect nightstand set up is the second step.

Let’s start with bedding, shall we? Everything is linked down below as per usual!

The first step to a comfy bed is the perfect sheets. I currently have linen sheets from Bed Threads and I am absolutely in love. They come pre-washed so they are already a little soft and cozy when you get them, and you do not have to fully break them in like you usually might have to with traditional linen bedding. There is no scratchy start, just immediate comfy coziness with Bed Threads linen. Plus linen is anti-bacterial which is good for those of us who are acne-prone, and it’s just as gentle on your hair as a satin pillowcase.

My duvet cover is from Anthropologie and it’s some blend of different fibers but it was very similar in that it felt comfy and soft when I first got it and has only gotten softer as I washed it. The last thing I ever want to have to do is feel like I have to break in my bedding. This duvet drew in because of the colors and print, and because I wanted to try something different and this really did the trick! The colors haven’t faded or gotten muted as I washed it, and even though it started soft and cozy, it has only gotten more so the more I have washed it.

The duvet insert is a simple down alternative insert from Walmart. I’ve had this thing for about 10 years and am only just now needing to replace it, and really only want to because it has gotten flat. As much as I clearly do not mind spending money on my bedding, if you can save a little here and there and it still is a great product, why not do it?

This nightstand checks all my boxes, and if you like books will also check all of yours! The drawer is the perfect size to fit whatever you need: it is deep, wide, and long enough to accommodate pretty much whatever you want to put in there. The space underneath is great storage for so many things, but for me, it is perfect to store more books. My current room is pretty small, and likely wherever I live next will also be small, so having a two-for-one bedside table/ book storage is exactly what I needed.

As you can see I also have 3 books on the top of the nightstand, all my lotions and hand creams, and a lamp, which just continues to show this little night table really does have the space for whatever you want to store in or on it. Plus this lamp was a gift I got from Etsy, and how gorgeous is it? Let’s me pretend I am in a forest living a little fairy life.

That’s all for this post! I hope you all enjoyed it and maybe got a little inspo on where to shop if you are looking to redo any part of your bedding situation.

See you all next week!
