How to Take the Best Quarantine Bath

It is no secret that during this time of being stuck in our homes and not seeing anyone, everyone all over the globe is taking self-care to new heights. We can all leave our hair alone and give it a break from heat styling, and give our skin a break from makeup, but what are we doing for our bodies? This is where the bathtub comes into play! While I take my fair share of baths during regular life, it feels so different when your mind is in a constant state of anxiety. Your body is going to reflect all the stress and anxiety you are under during all of this, and the best way to help it out is to shut your brain off, leave your phone in the other room, and to let yourself relax. Luckily I am a bath expert, and I am here to guide you through the perfect quarantine bath!

The first thing you need to do is set up your computer or tablet and put on a pointless show. Put on something you have seen a million times, something that makes you laugh, anything to take your mind off of the state of the world. My favorite show to do this with is Gossip Girl. It is absolute nonsense and pointless drama which makes it the perfect way to unwind and get lost in the show. The clothes, the parties, the dating, the vacations! What’s not to love? Whatever is this kind of show for you, switch it on and relax.

You will also need some kind of alcohol. Make yourself a cocktail, pour yourself a glass of wine, or enjoy a beer while you kick back in your tub and let the bubbles soak away your troubles. While getting drunk to solve your problems or forget the world is not a great idea, a glass or two is the perfect way to help dull some of the stress. Plus, it adds a slight layer of decadence to your bath which is what we are going for.

Bubble bath here, epsom salts here

After you have your entertainment and beverage set up, you need to get the actual bath portion going. Now the temperature of the water is totally up to you (I prefer as hot as possible) but the contents of the bath is very important. I like to have bubbles so bubble bath is a must, but the Epsom salts are necessary in case you want to get some benefits from your soak. I love this brand pictured above, Dr. Teal’s, as all of their products are full of essential oils and super gentle soaps so you don’t get any irritation, skin or otherwise. Epsom salts have the most amazing benefits that I won’t go into here, but this pair specifically is for pain. It is meant to help with muscle soreness and stiffness and they truly work. I also enjoy the lavender scent which is their sleep blend and I think it works wonders. They have a bunch of different scents to suit whatever your preferences are, but I think that the Epsom salt, bubble bath combo is the best way to do it.

Face mask I used here

Face mask I used here

For optimum bath relaxing you should add a face mask. While the nature of the face mask is up to you and what kind of results you are looking for, something simple that will let you luxuriate and not make you get out of the bath to wash it off. The goal here is to fully pamper yourself during this time of insanity so slap on a face mask and hop in the tub!

Tea lights here

This is the last touch (and optional) but I like to add a few tiny candles. These battery-powered, glitter tea lights are perfect and since they are run by batteries they are nice and low maintenance. It just adds that last little bit of relaxation and feeling of true pampering.

Hopefully, this helped you get some ideas for the next bath you take, and lets you take a chill pill in the middle of the insanity! Comment down below if you have any other tips to let yourself relax!
