Best Fall Movies
October, also known as the month of Halloween, is the best month of the year. Fall is in full swing and it is now socially acceptable to be into spooky things. Even though I love all things creepy, I am also a huge baby when it comes to the aforementioned spooky things. Below I have listed some of my favorite fall movies that have creepy elements without being scary. So no horror movies are listed here even though they do bring me great joy.
Hocus Pocus- Amazon Prime. Pair this movie with a fizzy, double bubble toil and trouble cocktail! Who knows, maybe this is the true potion to keep you young forever. (Recipe here)
Practical Magic- Hulu. This movie is best watched with a midnight margarita in hand! Just make sure the tequila you use isn’t from the man you killed then brought back to life.
The Nightmare Before Christmas- Amazon Prime. This one deserves a simple cup of hot cocoa. Make it delicious and decadent (with tons of marsh mellows of course) to enjoy this Halloween/Christmas crossover.
Beetle Juice- Amazon Prime. This mossy green cocktail will have you so happy, you might even forget not to summon Beetle Juice himself. Best enjoyed with the ghosts who live in your attic. (Recipe here)
The Corpse Bride- Amazon Prime. The tone of this movie is so dark and creepy, it only makes sense to have a black cocktail with it. After all, its all darkness if you end up getting engaged to a corpse. (Recipe here)
Edward Scissorhands- Unavailable on all streaming platforms. If you can rent this in Redbox or own it on DVD, the best drink to pair this with is hot chocolate with some peppermint schnapps thrown in . Even though this a fall movie, snow is incredibly important to the storyline so add in little wintery touch.
Harry Potter- Unavailable on all streaming platforms. Whenever watching a Harry Potter movie, you need Butter Beer. It is a huge must. Just thrown on a scarf and pretend you are headed down to the Three Broomsticks for a pint. (Recipe here)
American Horror Story- Netflix/Hulu. Since there are so many different seasons with different themes and everyone has their favorite, I included some recipes here with a link to one specialty cocktail from each season. This one isn’t my idea, but they still sound delicious.
Sweeny Todd- Amazon Prime. This perfect cocktail combines the essence of this movie with a great flavor profile. Just don’t drink too much of it before you go to the barber and it ends poorly for you. (Recipe here)
Coraline- Netflix. Pair this one with some simple apple cider and revisit the crazy fun times of being a kid!
I hope you guys enjoyed this short and sweet post! With school having just started back up things have been crazy the past few weeks. Keep coming back every Wednesday for more fun content!
